About three months ago, a cat appeared outside. Allison At Irken’s house, looking for something to eat. She and her family began to leave food and the cat returned consistently around 4 or 5 in the evening for several days.
“I noticed her on the porch for three days. She disappeared for a week or two and then reappeared,” said Allison, a foster carer. AnimalLuvr Dream Rescuesaid Rabnya.
No one in the area came to pick up the cat, so a humane trap was set up to bring the cat to safety.
A cat named Lottie (or Charlotte) was scared at first, hissing and spanking in fear. With a quiet room, plenty of treats, and a sense of security, her demeanor began to change.
Lottie tried to hide her face under the blanket, but she rubbed her back and started to relax. The next day she learned her pleasure in scratching the chin and summoned her courage to hold her head up.
“It took a solid week before I realized she was feeling a little more comfortable, but the real change came after she was spayed. She was suddenly amazingly adorable.”
Seeing Lottie’s age and coat type, Allison and the family immediately remembered Berlioz, a previous foster cat who was adopted from the same neighborhood about six months earlier.
“We suspected that this pretty girl was Berlioz’s sister. She is the same size and has the same fluff.”
Like Lottie, Berlioz was frightened when he first arrived, but with enough patience and a tempting feast he recovered and found the perfect home with his loving couple.
“The vet confirmed Lottie’s age, so I’m 99.9% sure he’s his brother.”
Around that time, the couple learned of their estranged sister, Lottie, and after much consideration decided to adopt her so they could reunite with their brother.
Lottie, renamed Bellatrix, arrives at her new home and is very nervous at first. She spent her first few days in a safe cave bed, but it didn’t take long before she started interacting with her new parents.
She allowed them to pet and even stretched out her legs to touch their hands.
About a week later, Bellatrix was out of the cave playing with toys and rubbing against humans for attention.
She took an instant crush on her reunited brother and tried to get him to play. Berlioz, now a professor, was a little hesitant at first, not knowing how to deal with her friendly enthusiasm, but Bellatrix persevered.
Every day she approached her professor, trying to teach her how to play and that she was playing in a good way.
“He has re-learned to play with her and now they are inseparable. He is really happy to be with his sister,” Alison shared to Love Meow.
The two best friends do everything together, walking around the house and chasing each other. When they get tired, Bellatrix snuggles up to her little brother and pours out her love.
After being apart for many months, they are back together again and closer than ever.
