Learning that he needed medical attention, they contacted an animal welfare organization. Chaton Orphelin Montreal, for assistance. With the help of volunteers, the cat was safely transported to Montreal where it was examined by a veterinarian.
“We named him Hemingway[for his polydactyly feet]. He was skinny and dirty. He couldn’t put weight on one of his hind legs,” the rescuer said. rice field.
Hemingway was full of battle scars. X-rays showed that his leg was not broken, but had wounds and abscesses, probably caused by other animal bites.
“He was treated for the infection right away. We were lucky to be found in time for treatment.”
In the vet’s office, Hemingway took everything straight. He purred, meowed and rubbed his face against staff and volunteers as if he knew they were helping.
“He had us pick him up and carry him.
Hemingway began his healing process in a comfortable nursing home. With proper care, good food and plenty of love, he started walking on all fours and playing like a kitten again.

“He is interested in what we do and talks to us like little ducklings. He likes to chat and talk about his adventures. I like being there.”
Hemingway is a very kind and loving person, but he is not shy about making his voice heard.
He insists on being in the same room as his people and seeks them out when he isn’t. “Every time we go to the bathroom or use the shower, he starts crying for us to come out or open the door.”
At an estimated four years old, Hemingway is still a kitten at heart.

“He likes to stretch out and sleep. He has big teddy bear paws.”
Hemingway has fully recovered and is now ready to find his place. “He’s a very easygoing cat, he’s adorable, he’s always home. He just wants to be loved all the time.”
“After getting through the rigors of the outdoors, he will live the best life he deserves.”
