About three months ago, a Good Samaritan found a tabby cat sitting alone by the steps outside his residence.
The cat was rough all over and had swollen arms. The finder contacted a local animal rescue group. puppy kitty new york cityand their volunteers took action.
They were able to take the stray dog to safety that day. A cat named Abby was instantly friendly and just wanted to be petted.
A vet visit reveals that Abby’s swollen arm has a malignant bone tumor that must be amputated.
Shortly after surgery and sterilization, Abby recovered and began to seek affection. She seemed to feel much better and even pressed the scratch on her chin and ear against the volunteer.
She melted into their hands and spewed out a storm as if to thank her for saving her life.
Abby joined Laura in foster care at PuppyKittyNYCity so she could continue the healing process in the comfort of her home. “She’s recovering nicely. She’s probably the sweetest cat ever,” Laura said. Instagram.
Despite being amputated and wearing a “doughnut” cone, Abby couldn’t stop jumping on the couch for up-close contact with her adoptive mother.
From day one she was lying snuggly and purring non-stop.
Abby made it her mission to follow her family around the house for every opportunity to cuddle.
She adapted to walking and cruising the place as a tripod. She follows humans from room to room without issue.
As soon as Laura sits down on the couch, Abby gets on her lap with three legs and snuggles up to take a nap, often with her tongue sticking out.
An empty rap is an instant snuggle invitation for Abby.
Laura has a small step stool so Abby can get onto the bed more easily, but “she can stand up without a step if she needs to.” , can climb and jump. She doesn’t seem to notice that she’s changed.
Abby loves people and would love to cuddle with her in bed all day if possible.
When Laura brings home a foster cat that needs cleaning. Abby came over and she offered to help. She started grooming her kittens one by one and made sure no one bathed them.

Abby follows wherever her people are. She greets them by rubbing their feet and “bleeping” as best she can.
“She’s a champion blepper and often sleeps with her tongue out, which is just the cutest thing ever.”
Abby is fully recovered and ready to take her place. “She may be missing one of her legs, but she is by no means devoid of her personality,” her rescue worker said.
“Even with three legs, she’s got the utmost love. Abby is truly the perfect cat.”
