Five show dogs died in an RV fire on Tuesday, June 13, the day before the American Kennel Club’s (AKC) Allbreed Dog Show at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.
Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue Public Affairs Officer Rob Herrin said: WTSPthe fire was reported on Tuesday afternoon, revealing that the casualties were all valuable boxers.
And the five boxers who died in the fire were Lamar Lang’s Rabble Lowther ‘Rabble’, Binberg’s Jubilant Perfect Ten for YDK ‘Zenna’, Lamar Lang’s Jingle Jungle ‘JJ’ and GCHB CH. Rainy Lane’s Simply Irresistible “Iris” and Alcher Gentry Cabaret. V TMAC “Shimmer”.
Bystanders saw smoke coming out of the RV’s vents and tried to get inside, but the smoke and flames prevented them from doing so, Herrin said.
Herrin also said by the time firefighters arrived at 2:45 p.m. “The flames covered about 50 percent of the vehicle.”
This accident has broken the hearts of many people, especially those in the dog community.
AKC’s Brandi Munden said: CNN, “We are aware of the tragic death of a dog in a parking lot at the Tampa Fairgrounds and our hearts go out to those affected, both humans and dogs.”“

No injuries were reported from the accident and no other RVs were affected by the fire.
Hyelin said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but she believes it was all an accident.
The AKC’s All-Breed Dog Show began Wednesday, June 14 and was scheduled to run through the weekend at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
