College students heard what sounded like a distressed kitten through the ventilation shaft. The kitten somehow sneaked into the ventilation and couldn’t find the exit.
The screaming continued for days, and worried students tried to throw food down the vent to save her. When it didn’t work, they turned to the community for help.
when animal lebanonRescue groups took their pleas and went into action. “It’s unclear how she got in. She had a hole in the ground ventilation, and she may have crawled in there,” rescuers told Ravnya.
By the time rescuers arrived, the kitten had stopped crying. “They couldn’t hear her, so the first thing our team did was plug a phone into the air vent to see if we could locate her, but It didn’t work.”
They went to an underground parking lot to continue their search.
After hours of roaming the maze of vents, they couldn’t find the kitten as if they were playing hide-and-seek together.
“We decided to build a platform and set it up right outside the vent with humane traps to give her easy access.”
At some point that night, a hungry kitten came out of the vent with a can of smelly food and entered the trap. When the rescue team returned that night, they were delighted to find that the kitten had finally been rescued.
“It’s no wonder she was terrified at first, trapped in a big maze of vents, in the dark with no one around her.”
The kitten was affectionately named Delilah. After eating her food and cuddling, she slowly opened up to people and her wary eyes began to relax.
“The only time she realized she was safe was when she was taken into foster care. They loved her and were very patient with her as she slowly came out of her shell.”
Delilah had the courage to ask people for their affection, and even curled up around their necks, trying to be empathetic. “Her foster parents allowed her to fully trust others.”
After checking out the new space, she got all the furniture she decorated and walked around.
Kittens are thriving because they no longer have to worry about having a roof over their heads or where their next meal is coming from. She also really likes shoulder riding.
“She is most comfortable on her shoulder.”
“Her personality has really blossomed.
Delilah is now 3 months old and is enjoying life as an indoor cat, roaming the world carefree.
The once timid stray cat has transformed into a confident cat. Delilah likes to climb on top of her family and can cuddle up to them or carry them around the house in her arms.
