Earlier this year, Best Friends Felines, a cat rescue group in Brisbane, Australia, found a small tabby cat roaming outside and adopted it.
A passerby found a lone stray dog on the side of the road and dropped him off at a veterinary hospital for help. Upon learning of his plight, rescuers quickly arranged to foster this kitten, whom they affectionately named Ernie.
As soon as Arnie arrived at the foster home, he settled in as if he had lived there all his life. “Even though he was small, it didn’t stop him from getting into play right away.” Best Friends Felines Shared.
No one knows exactly how he ended up roaming the outdoors, but Ernie no longer has to worry about food and shelter. He settled beautifully into his new space, claimed various toys and cat posts, and enjoyed every treat he could eat.
Most of all, Ernie grew to love hanging out with his peers and was the center of attention whenever he got the chance.
During his time on the street, Ernie began to show symptoms of feline flu, but was treated in the nick of time. “Otherwise he’s healthy and happy, but stress can make things a little worse.”
Nothing slowed Ernie down. Thanks to all the care and attention he received, he recovered and found the joy of being cuddled and the joy of riding around the house on his foster’s shoulders.
Since then, Ernie has remained close to every visitor he meets.
“Ernie wants everyone to know how friendly and funny he is, so every guest gets an ‘Ernie time’ every time they visit,” says Best Friends. Added cats.
Ernie knows no bounds when it comes to making friends with strangers. He loves humans and he loves every cat he sees. He plays hard with his cat friends, frolics around the house, and plans all sorts of antics.
When you’re tired, sit in the comfort of your lap and listen to the gurgling sounds as you fall asleep.
“He’s a little ball of energy who loves to play until he’s too tired to play anymore, and when he’s exhausted he’ll curl up with his foster parents to nap, cuddle and purr.”
When he spots someone in the kitchen, he runs over and jumps on their shoulders to offer his help.
When his human wears a hoodie, he happily slips into the “carrier” and rides around.
Ernie has an energetic spirit and a positive outlook. He is a genuine attention-seeker and strives to show affection to everyone in the house.
The tiger boy has been in foster care for about 4 months and is trying to convince someone every day.
“We have a lot of great cats that are overlooked because they are not ‘perfect’. With Ernie’s flu situation he may be ‘not perfect’ but to us he is It’s raw and perfect and deserves an equally loving home.”
The adorable tabby cat continues to greet every visitor who comes through the door, entertaining them with his adorable qualities, and happily awaits him ever since.
