A newborn kitten was found abandoned on the doormat of a house. The mother cat ran away and never came back. Her family scooped her up and rushed to her aid.
ashley raising Little Wanderers NYC, upon learning of the little Singleton, immediately agreed to foster her. The kitten arrived cold and weighed about 70 grams, very low weight for a newborn.
Ashley needed to warm her up to a safe body temperature before slowly starting to breastfeed. She stayed up all night feeding small amounts and nursing her kittens, keeping them warm and comfortable.
Against all odds, the kitten regained its strength the next day and began to drink formula on its own. After several more sleepless nights, Ashley breathed a sigh of relief when the kitten stabilized.
A kitten named Chihiro has recovered from stomach problems and has started to grow well. “She was always such a fighter. Every time I gave her her food, she would attack her bottle and breastfeed so vigorously,” Ashley shared to Love Meow .
“She went from a premature baby to an above-average stocky figure for her age in a week. It wasn’t easy for both of us. I knew I was going to lose her at some point.” I was sure.”
When the kitten opened its eyes, curiosity increased. She asked to hold her so that she could check her surroundings and occasionally smell her foster mother’s hands for milk.
When Ashley upgraded her kitten to a spacious playpen, the resident cats came to meet the new kitten and offered to help. They spent time with her, teaching her how to properly interact with other cats, how to keep clean, and how to play with toys.
