Last month, a Good Samaritan heard a kitten-like meow that was constant. Concerned, she followed the sound and looked around her, trying to find the kitten in distress.
She was stunned to find a tiny tiger dog the size of her hand lying alone in the grass, barking at the top of her lungs. Despite its diminutive size, the kitten had a pair of pipes, which saved his life.
There was no sign of a mother or siblings, and the kitten was sickly and thin.
The finder asked the community for help in getting the little one into immediate care.
A local animal shelter responded quickly and kept the kitten safe while they sought someone to care for him around the clock.
She was then contacted by One Cat at a Time, a rescue group that specializes in orphaned kittens. “We were asked to take her. How can you say no to such a small face?” Her founder Marie one cat at a timeSaid.
The kitten was affectionately named Peach after Princess Peach. No one knows how she got out on her own, and her mother never came back, but Peach never has to worry about food and shelter again.
Despite being underweight, Peach showed an amazing will to live. She took her bottle in her hand and ate to her heart’s content after each feeding. She gained 50 grams of her weight in just 2 days.
Peach was treated for an upper respiratory tract infection and all went well.
During her first week in foster care, she spent her time in an incubator to keep her warm and comfortable. She had a cuddly toy that beats her heart to calm her so she didn’t feel lonely.
She was purring storms in her cozy nest, happily kneading on blankets.
In perfect Peach fashion, she cries for a bottle when she’s hungry and even more for immediate attention.
Three weeks after birth, he began to grow teeth and began to chew and play. She continued to do her good work each day and her energy level skyrocketed as well.
The more active she became, the more curious she became about everything around her.
Peach was upgraded to a spacious playpen where she could exercise her paws and hone her skills as a cat. With her meticulous care and proper nutrition, she achieved milestone after milestone and her personality emerged.
She found out how to use the litter box, how to climb cat trees, and how to play with toys. She likes taking naps in her cat bed and she enjoys all of them.
At 6 weeks old, Peach is off the bottle and eating solids like a king. “She’s becoming a big girl who doesn’t need milk[kitten milk]anymore,” Marie said.
Peach grew up to be a healthy, playful child with a big voice and a lovely personality.
With the support of her community, she has gone from penniless to rich, a successful foster home, and a bright future ahead.
