The kitten with “Elvis’ lips” made a very small meow when he found the person he was waiting for.

Kristen Sterner found a petition from a local animal shelter saying a 6-week-old kitten was in dire need of rescue.she immediately contacted St. Francis Society Animal Conservation Activities I asked for help and offered to foster him.

The kitten had many health issues and some traumatic scars. “As soon as I picked him up and brought him home, he made a very small meow and I fell in love with him,” Kristen told Love Meow.

The orange tabby is polydactyly, having extra toes on all four paws. His scarred mouth will heal and he will have “Elvis’ lips with all his little teeth visible.”

The kitten was named Widdle after the Ewok warrior from Star Wars. Widdle, despite all that he’s been through, has been vocal since day one.

During his first vet visit with Kristen, Widdle didn’t hesitate to offer a number of “opinions.” “He had a lot to say, and even when he was taken in for an x-ray, I could hear him across the hallway and in the closed room.”

Widdle began taking medication and therapy to fight the disease. His persistent upper respiratory tract infections kept Kristen on constant alert.

Eventually, they discovered that Widdle had chronic recurrent rhinosinusitis and mycoplasma. “He has a cold in his nose and will probably be on medication for the rest of his life.”

Despite this, Widdle is determined. As soon as he gets up, he starts roaming around the house, sneaking up behind people and demanding whatever he wants.

“He never gives up and is the kindest man, even after everything he’s overcome.”

Kristen saw the ferocity in his eyes when she met him at the shelter and knew this little man was serious. From the moment he first whined to her, he got deep into her heart.

“I thought he would become part of our family.”

As Widdle grew into a young cat, his personality really came through. He was fearless, noisy and loved other cats and dogs. When he’s with Kristen, he transforms into a Velcro kitten.

“Widdle is a firecracker. He’s very bossy and demanding, but he’s also very sweet and lovable.”

“If he wants something, he makes a snorting noise. You can’t go wrong with anyone but him,” Kristen told Love Meow.

Mr. Widdle is very persuasive and does not accept a no answer.

Every morning when Kristen wakes up, Widdle runs up the cat wall to greet her at the cat tree next to her door. He then climbs onto her shoulder and starts the day with her warmest hug and sweetest purr.

“Widdle loves shoulder surfing and hitchhiking all the way around the house.”

Kristen regularly finds Widdle sitting on the back of his chair at dinner, smelling food in the air.

Widdle has won bravery feats and has grown into a beautiful cat with a big personality.

Yesterday they celebrated his first birthday together and Widdle was so proud.

“One of the best things that happened to me was Widdle coming into my life,” Kristen said. “He is my soul kitten and fills my heart with so much love and happiness.”
