Pitbulls are often seen as aggressive dogs. But this pit bull is a hero at heart, risking his life to save the life of a little girl.
A woman posted facebook post Word spread about her brother, a pitbull. she wrote:
“My brother was walking his pitbull research mix, Harley, in a neighborhood field around 10pm. The reason I walk him this late is so he can be off the leash to do whatever he likes and smell different scents. Hearing the screams of a young child, Harley ran off before his brother noticed.
His brother was right behind and witnessed Hurley snatch the copper-headed snake from the boy and fling it away, only to later learn that he had killed it. The boy ran to his mother’s car and sped off so his brother could get no information about the boy. (I’m guessing he was bitten and taken to the ER because they left too soon).
My brother then called Animal Control and Highland Village Police showed up to check on the scene. They asked to see if Hurley had been bitten. To my surprise, my brother was bleeding, his neck was swollen and his mouth was foaming. Sure enough, they found two puncture wounds on his upper lip.
Mr. Shelby rushed Mr. Hurley to Denton Animal Emergency Hospital and stayed there overnight to have his blood clotting ability tested multiple times throughout the night. Both Shelby and Harley came home this morning. Thankfully, Harley is feeling a lot better this morning, but his face and neck are swollen and he looks a little uncomfortable.
Later it turned out that the boy had encountered a nest of copperheads and hopefully saved Harley from being bitten by him, or at least more than once. We are still trying to find out who this boy is and make sure he is okay. ”
Here is our hero, Pitbull. I hope his story reaches those who judge his breed.
To combat negative stereotypes about Pit Bulls, the woman encouraged others to share her post. This story has touched thousands of hearts and been shared over 300,000 times.
