- Wine: 77% increase
“Bread wasn’t the only thing being baked during the pandemic,” added Dr Brutlag. “We also saw a 102% increase in the number of marijuana poisoning incidents referred to veterinary poison experts. Pets exposed to cocktails and wine also increased significantly. We examined files on pandemic-related cases and compared the numbers to current statistics.The addiction appears to be seasonal, with bakery and home improvement incidents declining around the fall of 2020 and marijuana addiction increasing.
