My husky, Casey, had kidney disease. He wouldn’t eat anything. He was a big boy at 101 pounds. The veterinarian recommended sweets. His wife made him pancakes that looked like corncobs. Covered with butter and syrup. He ate it until the day he died. I had an appointment with the vet on Saturday morning. Saturday morning, when we woke up, he had passed away in the middle of the night. We certainly miss our big boy. He was a gentle giant who loved everyone.

Our disease is not yet classified as a kidney disease, but our kidney levels are declining. She suggested chicken and rice as we were giving lamb and rice and it was too fatty.we bought a cheaper brand propran chicken rice And gave HEPATO SUPPORT vitamins to support the kidneys.Or the other brand is Denamarin, both recommended by vet and retested after 2 months

Be sure to ask your veterinarian how it can help with kidney disease. If they give you an answer as if it were formulated for that particular problem, it was told by a salesperson at a manufacturer they were simply trying to sell food to. It means that you are just repeating things. Ask what specific ingredients help and how. If you can’t answer the question, don’t worry. If he’s going to pay $100.00 for a prescription meal… he needs to know more from the vet than what’s on the bag.
