Meet Marvin from Eastern Bongo
Bongo, a healthy male, was born on April 8th to mother Lily and father Bobby. The calf was named Marvin. Newborn bongo calves, like their parents, have large ears and bright white stripes, which help camouflage the sun’s rays coming through the leaves from the canopy in dense forest areas.

Marvin had a successful opening day at the trade show two weeks ago. He shares the exhibit with Bernadette, his mother and another female bongo. He seems to enjoy hanging out under his habitat’s shelter as he continues to spend a lot of time exploring his home. Bongos and other antelopes often hide their calves and return to nurse and check on them. If you can’t see it right away, check the corners and back walls of the exhibit.

Meet the Cadbury, Yellowback Dyker
Another baby boy has arrived on the Hoofstock team! A male yellow-backed Dyker named Cadbury was born on April 10th to his mother, Pumpkin, and his father, Daryl. Newborn duiker calves have several adorable features, including a red tuft on the top of their head and a large “boopable” nose.

Cadbury first attended the exhibit two weeks ago and spent much of the day hiding in the bamboo surrounding the exhibit. Cadbury shares exhibits with Okapi, Stanley Crane, and his mom.
