Larry the cat was discovered as a stray while wandering outside. “His condition was that he had been alone for some time. His ears, nose and paw pads were frostbitten.” Exploits Valley SPCA Shared.
Larry was about one or two years old at the time. He was very friendly to everyone he met, as if he was trying to make up for lost time. He was happy to sleep in a warm bed and to have people with him.
He began handing out snuggles to anyone he spent time with. He couldn’t be happier, but they realized something was wrong with him.
“There was something wrong with the way he was walking. He had trouble breathing at times, but he looked very happy and was generally fine. A veterinarian’s examination revealed no heartbeat. Did.”
They discover that Larry has ruptured his diaphragm and some of his organs have moved to the wrong place.
“There’s no way of knowing when or how this happened. He seemed to have recovered and seemed to be pain-free, but there was no way of knowing how long he had to live.”
Despite the uncertainty, nothing stopped Larry from enjoying his time with people. He had a big personality and entertained many with his lovable quirks.
He was always overjoyed when he was with the volunteers and was always parading. He will also stand still kneading the floor and purring.
Larry was at his best when he was with people, but the shelter environment was stressful for him. “He needed someone to give him a chance. Thankfully he found her.”
Around that time, Ally stumbled across a post about Larry and fell in love with this sweet boy.
“As soon as I saw him on the page with his adorable little mouse face and sad eyes, I knew he was mine,” Ally told Love Meow.
After many phone calls and letters about Larry, it turned out to be a perfect match. Larry was instantly attracted to Allie, and it was clearly love at first sight for her.
As soon as Larry arrived at his new home, he started following his mother all over the house.
He became a giant cuddly bug and the friendliest companion. Larry really shined as someone who had his place and who loved him to the core.
Larry loves going on outdoor adventures with his mother and enjoys traveling with her by car, plane and even boat. “He’s my best traveling companion. He’s my Prince Charming!”
“Larry is a very kind person. I make sure to say hello to everyone who comes to my house,” Allie told Lovenya.
“He is a very laid back kitty. He loves his little brother Gus and is always cuddling and kissing him.”
When Larry arrived at the shelter, his future was uncertain. “He was desperately looking for a home in hopes of surviving for weeks or months.”
Three years later, Larry is grown, happy, and living his best life.
Every day he stays close to everyone in the house.
“Larry certainly proved that opportunity is everything for animals.”
